Weekend Getaway

At the end of last week Greg asked me how my schedule looked for this weekend.  I knew something was up, he asked that I take Friday off and surprised me with a trip to Chicago!  Lexie stayed with Nonnie and Aunt Shelli & Uncle Justin for the weekend and Alyssa was kind enough to let Kota out so we were headed for Chicago Friday morning.
We had a great time, first we went to the Science and Industry Museum and even without a kid we managed to spend 3 hours there.  We also got to enjoy a nice dinner...kid free. :)

Our hotel room was amazing.  We stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Chicago where we had an awesome view!

We got to see the beautiful sunrise!

Saturday we took off for South Bend to spend some time with friends and experience Notre Dame tailgating.  What a perfect day for tailgating!  The weather was perfect and the campus was packed.  Notre Dame hosted their first night game in 20+ years so everyone came out to have a good time.

Funny side note, Notre Dame played USC on Saturday and when we got to our hotel on Friday afternoon we were checking in with a bunch of USC fans.  Apparently we stayed at the official USC hotel for the night, we even had the marching band practicing right outside our room window that evening.

Thanks for showing us the ropes Scott and Jenn, we'll definitely have to do it again!

Don't worry, while we were having our adult weekend Lexie was being spoiled rotten.  Aunt Shelli & Uncle Justin even took her to Chuckie Cheese for the first time.  Here's a couple pictures that I received over the weekend.

What a great weekend!  I missed Alexis though, I was definitely ready to pick her up this afternoon. It will be a while before I'll be willing to give her up for 3 nights again!
